A school holiday week placed us in Italia. Leaving Amsterdam’s colder climate for a 2.5 hour flight to Naples immersed us in 30 degree C temperatures with the Mediterranean Sea at 23C. It was great to swim every day at the end of October! Our Italian quest (with photos) brought us to; Napoli, the vertical Amalfi Coast, Amalfi, an Amalfi sunset, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Island of Capri, Positano, north to Roma, and of course, our villa!

Friend Tom G. provided his great resource for Vesuvius, here. While in Pompeii I became obsessed with the genius of the Italians/Romans- the roads, the aqueducts, the engineering…Our Pompeii tour guide introduced me to an excellent book, Pompeii, by Robert Harris. A page turner! The rugged beauty of the country, completely natural food, and constant sunshine is too tangible to put into words, but…Organico, bello, naturale!
